About Me
Hi there! :) My name is Olivia Vallandingham, and I am a an aspiring professional journalist with a B.S. in Journalism from Bowling Green State University.
As a freshman, I jumped headfirst into volunteer writing for BG Falcon Media. I became involved in an official capacity as a sophomore by becoming an intern writer, and -- impressed by my work ethic and skill -- the advisors suggested I apply for news director the following year. I spent my junior year at the News Content Director, where I oversaw our media website, managed teams of interns, and collaborated across executive staff to produce hundreds of pieces of content in the year.
The summer after my junior year, I decided I wanted to broaden my horizons and gain experience in the public relations field. I spent 6 months as a public relations intern for the Toledo Museum of Art, and I wrote press released, planned events, and accompanying local media outlets around the museum. Senior year, I decided that my heart belongs in news, so I went back to my roots and served as a digital news intern at WTVG-TV 13 Action News in Toledo.
My various roles in news, public relations, social media, and beyond have given me extensive experience in interviewing, AP style, community outreach, social media management, media relations, and more. I am passionate about storytelling and committed to delivering exceptional communication that matters.
