The Bowling Green Police Department (BGPD) is asking the community to be on the lookout for 20-year-old Marcus Ruiz, of Toledo, who is accused of stabbing another man outside Liquid Bar early Sunday morning.

While campus was away on spring break, one local bar said cheers to 20 years.
Campus Quarters, located on 107 State St in Bowling Green, celebrated its 20th anniversary under the ownership of husband and wife duo Joe and Lauren Kostelnik. BGSU cancels in-person classes due to cold weather conditions

Due to the extreme cold warnings put out by the National Weather Service for Wood and Erie counties, BGSU’s main and Firelands campuses have canceled in-person classes from 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 21 to 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 22, according to an email sent out by university officials Tuesday evening.

Ohio magistrate recommends $6.5M to the Stone Foltz Estate

A Columbus magistrate has recommended a $6.5M payout to the estate of Stone Foltz, a sophomore at BGSU who died in 2021 of alcohol poisoning after hazing.

Parking Services during break: What to expect

BGSU’s Parking Services website will undergo maintenance before winter break to keep systems functional. Because of this, online and in-person permit purchases and citation appeals will be unavailable starting at 4 p.m. on Dec. 12.
All student citations that have not been paid prior to Dec. 13, the Friday of finals week, will be transferred to the student’s bursar account. These balances must be paid to register for classes.

Mitchell Cash and Ana Cunningham, two alumni of BGSU and its Falcon Marching Band (FMB), got engaged during the FMB’s alumni performance at this year’s Homecoming.

University police phase out blue light emergency phones

The blue light emergency phones on BGSU’s campus have been removed as of the Fall 2024 semester by university police and administration, according to university bids records and campus police. 
The security poles, introduced to BGSU in 1996, were located near buildings and parking lots across campus as university-wide safety measures to aid the campus community in emergency situations.
